Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the best in the dangerous art of extraction: stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Cobb’s rare ability has made him a coveted player in this treacherous new world of corporate espionage, but it has also made him an international fugitive and cost him everything he has ever loved. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. One last job could give him his life back but only if he can accomplish the impossible—inception. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse; their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming.
Inception stars three-time Academy Award® nominee Leonardo DiCaprio (“Blood Diamond,” “The Aviator”), Academy Award® nominee Ken Watanabe (“The Last Samurai”), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (“500 Days of Summer”), Oscar® winner Marion Cotillard (“La Vie en Rose”), Academy Award® nominee Ellen Page (“Juno”), Tom Hardy (“RocknRolla,” “Bronson”), Cillian Murphy (“Batman Begins”), Tom Berenger (“Training Day”), Dileep Rao (“Avatar”), and two-time Oscar® winner Michael Caine (“Hannah and Her Sisters,” “The Cider House Rules”).

“Do you think they should have included the soundtrack as well though?”
Agreed. Possibly, but I am unsure at this current time. I hope so! I thought the soundtrack enhanced the mood of the movie, and gave us more time to work with their dilemmas of how their inception in terms of concept which is going to give Fischer the idea enabling him to break his Father’s empire. It’s also compressed with a lot of emotion, especially when it’s filled into Dom’s retrospective scenes.

Looks great. My stocking is just waiting to be stuffed…..yeah, I know how that sounds, what of it?
Question though: that says it’s Warner Home Video UK–will us lads and ladies in the US get the same sweet package?

This is almost exactly what I thought it would be. see the topic “Wouldn’t it be cool…(DVD)”. Now that it’s actually been thought out I’m kind of worried about the price since I speculated they would release the limited edition in separate formats but what we’ve got is all the formats packed in one. lol. If I can save enough though I’m definitely getting this!

But there’s only one version of the film. I thought I was a dork when I shelled out (ok, received for Christmas) big bucks for Blade Runner briefcase-o-goodies. But at least that has several versions of the film along with the extra stuff you’ll never use but is still fun to look at. This seems like a waste of money, but I won’t argue with collectors. You like what you like, there’s no shame in that.

Inception starring Leonardo DiCaprio is a thrilling, but sometimes confusing movie…and it’s a far, far cry from Titanic!

Nothing impressive on this side of the Atlantic, I’m afraid. The Inception blu-ray details for the US release have been out for a while, and it’s just a standard double disk blu-ray/dvd combo pack with a handful of special features. Meaning one disk for each format, not a disk for the film and another for extras. Compared to the UK release, it’s a bit rubbish, really. All I can really hope for is a solid transfer, though I wouldn’t be surprised if Warner pulls one on us and forces a double dip a few months down the line.
Honestly, if this were a mere dvd I’d do like I did for Zulu and a handful of other films and import the R2 PAL, but blu-ray uses an entirely different type of region coding. Multi-region dvd players are plentiful, but multi-region blu-ray players are much more expensive. Eventually when the price drops down even further I might get around to picking one up, but right now I’ve no interest in dropping the four to six hundred dollars necessary to play the other two blu-ray regions.
Sucks, but it’s not the first time the UK has gotten better releases than the US, even for American films.
