We’re not quite finished with Nightmare on Elm Street! As a lifelong fan of the Springwood Slasher, there’s still plenty more to come on Static Mass (including our exclusive interview with Platinum Dunes’ own Brad Fuller), but for now, we’d like to bring you a look at some of the footage which was cut from 2010 release. These images are from the featurette Freddy Krueger Reborn which is available on both Blu-ray and DVD versions.

Here we have Freddy (Jackie Earle Haley) in what seems to be a long cloak in what appears to be an abandoned church. No fedora, no trademark red and green striped sweater, he advances towards Quentin (Kyle Gallner) in a dream sequence which is not featured in any way, shape or form in the film.

Another image shows a demonic version of Kris (Katie Cassidy) after her death. Covered in blood and staggering through Nancy’s corridor. We assume this scene would have come right before Nancy (Rooney Mara) sinks through the floor and bursts through her bedroom ceiling. One of the other images show Freddy unzipping Quentin’s head to emerge from it. We’re not sure where exactly in the movie this scene would have fit in.

What’s odd is that none of this footage is included as deleted scenes on either the Blu-ray or DVD but only on the featurette. It leads us to wonder if Warner Brothers might have wanted to test fans reactions before releasing an extended cut of the movie. Warner, whatever you’re planning, bring it on!
