Finally got a chance to “Predators” the other day and found it better than expected. I read the prequel and sequel comic stories, so the story wasn’t unknown to me before seeing the film. If you are a fan of the first “Predator” film with Arnold, then you will definitely like this new addition to the series. It shares a lot of similar elements to the original movie, mainly the jungle locations and being hunted in them. Should be interesting to see what will happen in the sequel, if it ever comes about. I’d like to see the characters get off the planet. There is a bit of the “Bad Blood” Dark Horse comic story woven into the film with a rival Predator clan enjoying hunting a ground based clan. A big fight between two of the main Predators occurs close to the end of the movie. Adrien Brody does a superb job at being a badass in the field of hunting. Up until this movie, you would never think of him being in that kind of role, but he pulls it off nicely. Laurence Fishburne’s role is short, but excellent. The prequel comic gives more backstory to his character, but not a lot. All around, I definitely want a copy of this movie for my DVD library when it comes out soon.
