It’s been ten years since Ghostface’s last spree of killings. It’s a new decade with new rules. Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox and David Arquette reprise their roles and reunite with director Wes Craven, for the first part in a new trilogy.
Written by Kevin Williamson who brought us the first 3 Scream movies, this one will again feature an ensemble cast of today’s hottest young talent including Emma Roberts, Hayden 
Panettiere, Rory Culkin and Adam Brody.
With Robert’s cast as Sidney’s young cousin, Jill, it seems the Campbell’s aren’t out of the woods yet as a new spree of killings begin once again.
But with 10 years passing since we last saw our favourite characters, fans are eager to see how their lives have changed. Did Sidney stay with Detective Kincaid? So far we know Sidney wrote a book based on her experience with the masked killers, something she had previously condemned reporter Gale Weathers for doing.
Gale and Dewey are married and living in Woodsboro, but when the killings start all over again, Gale is there to get the scoop, but this time she might end up on the pointy side of Ghostface’s knife if the trailer is anything to go by!
Anna Paquin and Kristen Bell are both cast in cameo roles; presumably their characters won’t be on screen for longer than an introduction and death, i.e. Drew Barrymore (Scream 1), Sarah Michelle Gellar (Scream 2) and Jenny McCarthy (Scream 3), but fans will have to wait until April next year to find out how it all unfolds because so far, even plot details are being kept under wraps. One thing is for sure; Scream 4 aims to raise the bar once again on horror movies and promises to be brutal, bloody and fun. The filmmakers have also hinted there are some shocks and surprises in store, as well as some prolonged death scenes.

Originally, the series was intended to be a trilogy, but after ten years Bob Weinstein thought it was time for another film. Scream 4 is supposed to be the first of a new trilogy, with both Craven and Williamson signed on for the duration. Filming began in and around Ann Arbor, Michigan on June 28, 2010 and ended September 24, 2010.
In other Scream related news this week, 1428 Films together with A&E’s BIO Channel have announced that work on a documentary has begun. Titled “Scream: The Inside Story”, it will be directed by Daniel Farrands with an expected release date of April 2011 to coincide with the movie. 1428 Films were behind the making of this year’s award winning Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy, the definitive Nightmare On Elm Street documentary and are now…taking their love for documentaries one step further!

Here at World Spinner we are debating the same thing……
NOW…I see who else that was helping Sidney close the door. It was Kate so maybe her and Sidney will have a chase scene together inside the house. But Sidney will escape and Kate will probably still get killed. I thought that Jill that helped her close the door. Kate might help with Sidney’s maybe second attack and Jill’s first attack.
Wow, the trailer is out!! I’m looking forward to this one…!!

Actually this may sound weird but they have done the whole the killer films everything look at Scream 2 Billy’s mom was filming everything when she killed people and i just don’t get why they would do that again since they have already done it. I have a feeling this going to be Scream 2 2.0 but named Scream 4.

Will be interesting to see though if they can add a smart twist to it and not just “the expected is the new cliché” as the guy in the trailer says. I hope they come up with something good enough to really make it the first part in a new trilogy.

I have to agree, I think it will open with the 2 Stab characters definitely! Although I absolutely love Gale and Dewey I really think it’s time for one or two of the original characters to die, I hope they give them a really good send off. There’s a lot of speculation about aunt Kate being the killer….interesting!!! This HAS to be THE most anticipated movie in a loooooooong time!
Just saying, again. If Neve campbell dies in this movie.. There is NO motive for scream to follow up with a 5th or 6th movie. Sidney Prescott are these movies… You will loose more than half your fans if she dies.
