The Green Hornet (2011)

By Patrick Samuel

The latest superhero making their way to the big screen is the Green Hornet! Directed by Michel Gondry (The Science of Sleep, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind), the movie is expected to arrive in cinemas on January 14th 2011 in both 3D and 2D formats.

The film follows the exploits of Britt (Seth Rogen) and his friend Kato (Jay Chou in the role played by Bruce Lee in the television series in the 1960’s) as they fight crime disguised as the bad guys so they wouldn’t be suspected of infiltration. Their efforts are frowned upon by law officials for the duo’s ease in dealing casually with criminals. Throw in the gorgeous Cameron Diaz as Britt’s love interest and there enough ingredients for an action packed crime-caper with a splice of comedy!

Am quite looking forward to the movie; was a fan of the TV series and the comics, so will be interesting to see how some of those ideas are translated into the movie and whether or not 3D is really necessary – only time will tell!
