The Social Network looks set to be one of this autumns topical movies but will cinema-goers “like” it?
Based on the 2009 novel The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding of Facebook, A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal by Ben Mezrich, and directed by David Fincher (Zodiac, Fight Club, Se7en), The Social Network follows the early days of Facebook and how it went on to make its founder Mark Zuckerberg (Jesse Eisenberg) one of the youngest billionaires in the world. It will also focus on Sean Parker (Justin Timberlake) who co-found Napster back in the 90’s and became President of Facebook Inc. Also starring are Rooney Mara (A Nightmare on Elm Street), Andrew Garfield (the new Spiderman) and Joseph Mazzello (Jurassic Park).
Earlier last week, Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails announced that he would be composing the score with Atticus Ross. Renzor has previously contributed his music to several films already including Se7en, Lost Highway, Natural Born Killers and Man on Fire.
The Social Network is released on October 15th 2010 and distrubted by Columbia Pictures.
