Jesse’s Lost Journal — by Mark Patton

Entry 8, 1982

She drove me to school this morning, tomorrow is my day as the car will be fixed by then. I cannot afford the new shocks right now… so it may be a bit bumpy but it runs.

Dreams do NOT come true, the first people I saw at school were the Nelly Olsens, still alive… damn.

Gym class today was not cool, baseball (my favorite). A good natured fight between my friend and myself (lost my pants) turned into a three act play with you know who! 200 push ups, running (more evidence that I may one day be anorexic… I enjoyed the no eating and running, kind of makes you high).

After everyone left school we were sent to the showers again, we are very clean boys… with a lecture about being good sportsmen and all that crap… then he went into his office, where of course he can watch us and I am not kidding here… started playing with his balls, rolling them around in his hand…I wonder if he understands how Freudian this is… baseballs, basketballs… his balls. What a freak.

Thankfully my friend drove me home, he really is nice and really funny. He told me some horrible stuff about our house, I do not think he was kidding… if it is true, I do not want to think about it… as I will Never Sleep Again.
