Jesse’s Lost Journal — by Mark Patton

Entry 32, 1982

After I was allowed to wake up from my sleep, having no idea how the time had passed (the deal with a General is you have no memory, no dreams… which leads me to think they believe me about Fred).

I am strapped into the bed and this cell; I am sure the glass is bullet proof. I notice my wrists are scratched like I tried to slit them, 4 hacked marks. I think that must mean I have been asleep for 4 days and Freddy is playing again.

At that moment Johnson came into the cell, I was happy to see him… I can not decide if he is my nurse or guard, I guess it really doesn’t matter. I know he has a pistol by the door and a stun gun too. He said hello and asked if I would like a mirror, strange… but I said ok. My head was shaved and I had a black eye, really bad… I looked more like my old self, when I went to Northgate Day School.

The black eye told me I had been gone for 5 not 4 days. Johnson filled me in on my rest. I had been processed by the police, finger printed, striped and body searched (probed again… haha), they had also taken blood and given me an AIDS test… we would know the results in two days… well they would, I already know… I mean I am a virgin, I have never had sex… unless you could count the probe!

I had finally met my goal weight, a bright glittery spot in an otherwise foreboding day! I think look like a fashion model, all punked out… I am kind of pleased with the look, it fits a murderer.

Johnson said he wanted to talk but we must do it quickly as Henry would be here soon and we needed to get this out of the way. “Look,” said J. “I went to Springwood High, I am about 10 years older than you… which makes me almost 30, no comments please… the point is I went to school with Nancy Thompson. Nancy was a freshman when I was a senior. We were never friends, she was very aloof but we had classes together so I did know her mind.”

He had also witnessed them processing her after she was taken away. Point being he believes me about Freddy and he may be helpful but we would need to be completely silent in regards to his help… it would put us both in great danger.

“Be careful with Henry, she has an agenda and it is not to get you out of here. This is the last thing I can tell you right now and please be calm… Lisa’s body has disappeared. After you were taken in, the men went back to process the scene and she was gone. They think perhaps she is still alive. They are looking for her still.”

I knew that was impossible as I had sat with her all that time…I killed her. Her body was gone! What about her soul? I guess I now know what Fred was doing while I slept. I heard him laugh… and then the door opened and Dr. Henry was in the cell.
